On Thursday 7 July, adaptive surfers from across the world will meet at The Wave in Bristol, to compete in the 2022 English Adaptive Surfing Open.

The Wave welcomes back world-leading adaptive surfing competition

The Wave – a unique, inland surfing destination - is proud to host the highly-contested event and continue to build the case for national funding to be made available to support this rapidly growing para-sport, and lobby for inclusion in the Paralympic Games.

This competition is the 6th English Adaptive Open, an event which continues to grow exponentially each year. This year, the event is set to welcome over 40 surfers from around the world, coming from as far afield as the USA and will be biggest competition to date. The Wave is particularly well suited to catering to those with adaptive needs, due to its accessible design, and the range, quality, and predictability of the waves produced by its wave-making technology.

The English Adaptive Open is always an amazing day and people are welcome to come and watch this brilliant event, and cheer on the athletes, but need to purchase one of The Wave’s usual Spectator Passes (£2) in advance to enter the site: https://www.thewave.com/spectator-pass/
