Bath MP Wera Hobhouse will host a panel of local speakers for a free online community conversation on the widespread problem of violence against women and girls, and how organisations in Bath are working in partnership to tackle it. The event will take place on Thursday 30th June from 6 - 7:30 pm on Zoom.

Wera is the Liberal Democrat Spokesperson for Women and Equalities and a passionate campaigner on women’s issues. She was successful in making upskirting a criminal offence and is campaigning to make misogyny a hate crime.

Wera Hobhouse said: “I want to help end violence towards women and girls in the UK. The statistics and stories show that we still have a long way to go. We need to change the culture that leads to violence against women and girls, and we can only do this by working together."

“Join me and my guest speakers as we discuss the partnership work being done in Bath to make our city safer for women and girls. I’m very proud to see our local police, Bath Business Improvement District, our universities, Bath & North East Somerset Council and charities like VOICES coming together in groundbreaking ways to effect real change. Please join me for this important conversation on a topic that impacts us all.”

Guest speakers will include:
•  Meg Crossman, University of Bath Student Union, Chair of the Community Partnership Board
•  Allison Herbert, CEO, Bath Business Improvement District
•  Ursula Lindenberg, CEO of VOICES, a survivor-founded charity in Bath specialising in domestic abuse recovery
