At approximately 2pm on Saturday 9 April, a fire broke out on the roof of We The Curious, located on a section of solar panels.

Avon Fire & Rescue Service and the police arrived quickly to site and dealt with the fire; all the staff and visitors were all evacuated safely.

The team have now been able to start assessing the damage to the site; the building has sustained some significant fire and water damage to the roof, the second floor and areas of the building where water has come through. Thankfully, the main exhibition floors appears to remain relatively unharmed.

The WTC team have still got some more assessing of the site to do, but now know that We The Curious be closed for a few weeks.

If you’ve booked tickets for We The Curious over the next few weeks, their teams will be in touch with you to rearrange your visit. They have also taken tickets off sale for the next few weeks, so you won’t be able to book tickets at the moment.

If you've booked a Venue Hire event, or a school trip with them, their teams will be getting in touch with you shortly regarding your booking.

Thank you
The team at We The Curious like to say a massive thank you to their incredible staff for their hard work and dedication, to their visitors for their understanding, and to the Avon Fire and Rescue team and police for their swift action.

They would also like to say a big thanks to Bristol Hotel, SS Great Britain and Bristol Old Vic for supporting a wedding party that they had on Saturday.
