COVID-19 Additional Relief Fund (CARF), administered by Bristol City Council, is a new relief for businesses affected by the pandemic but ineligible for existing support linked to business rates.

The relief is available to reduce business rate bills in respect of 2021/22 only.

Businesses can get up to 100 per cent of their business rates for the 2021/22 financial year credited back. Depending on the level of demand on the fund, the amount of relief may be capped so as many businesses as possible can be supported.

To be eligible, a business must be able to demonstrate they have been adversely affected by the pandemic and that they are unable to adequately adapt to that impact.

Applications to the fund must be made by 31 May 2022. Bristol City Council will then assess all applications and notify businesses as soon as possible of the outcome.

Visit the council website for full details on the COVID-19 Additional Relief Fund, to check your eligibility and to apply.
