We are delighted to announce that YMCA Bath Hostel has been upgraded to 4 STAR accommodation as of 16 June 2020.

The assessor commented “Bath YMCA provides a very good standard of accommodation and it is good to see the upgrades that have been completed since the last visit.” Maggie King, Director of the hostel said: “We are thrilled with the 4 star award, we continually invest in the hostel, updating rooms and general facilities with the aim of providing a welcoming place to stay at great prices”. The hostel offers a range of rooms including double ensuites, single, twin, triple, quad and family rooms all with shared facilities, as well as dormitories for larger groups – prices vary depending on room type and day of the week and also group size and whether extras such as meals are required.

Maggie King went on to comment “It has been a difficult 18 months for all commercial accommodation providers but this has lifted our spirits and we feel really optimistic moving forward. We will keep investing in the hostel and have some exciting plans in the pipeline.” Like all providers there has been a focus on cleanliness and the assessor commented on this with “high levels of cleanliness were noted”, thus giving visitors the reassurance, they need to stay in any accommodation.

The commercial hostel has been open at the YMCA for many years and it is run with the purpose of providing great value accommodation to groups, independent travellers and families in the heart of our city. The YMCA is a charity and runs this hostel as a social enterprise (and sister hostel in Bristol – the Bristol Wing) to ultimately transfer any surplus funds into supporting our charitable work mainly around working with young people and homelessness. Therefore, by choosing to stay in one of the YMCA hostels you are also helping others, so not only do you get great accommodation and a warm welcome but you also know you are doing something positive for others.
