Visit Bath usually carries out consumer campaigns on a seasonal basis to encourage visits, specifically overnight stays and short breaks (promoting midweek stays in particular). In addition, we have an ‘always on’ content-led approach across several themes:
- Spa and Wellbeing
- Eating and Drinking
- Christmas
Feel-Good Bath
As a city with a rich thermal heritage, with spas both ancient and modern, Feel-Good Bath is our annual campaign showcasing Bath’s wellbeing offering. Normally taking place in the New Year to capture consumer appetite for resolutions, health and wellness, in addition to spas, we also promote the many other ways to feel good in Bath, from dining out, to exploring museums, and enjoying country walks.
We update and encourage traffic to a ‘Feel-Good Bath’ hub each year and encourage sharing, user-generated content and extended reach through the use of #feelgoodbath
Bath at Christmas
Bath at Christmas is our annual campaign centred around encouraging short breaks for Christmas. Focusing not only on promoting visits to the popular and award-winning Bath Christmas Market, we also showcase the city and region’s wider festive offering in November and December. This includes places to stay, attractions, food and drink venues, and other events taking place.
We update and encourage traffic to a ‘Bath at Christmas’ hub. The campaign reach is extended and user-generated content is encouraged via #bathatchristmas.
Eating and Drinking
Bath’s exceptional food and drink scene has gained the city a reputation as a delicious destination for a foodie break. An evergreen content focus which we draw upon year-round to promote the city’s wide variety of restaurants, cafés, bars and pubs, September and October have historically also been more prominent ‘content hook’ months, tying in with food festival The Great Bath Feast.
Visit England campaigns
We try to align with VisitEngland campaigns wherever possible to ensure wider coverage of the city and region. In 2021 this has involved funded digital activity to encourage direct bookings with local businesses via the TXGB platform as part of the Escape the Everyday campaign.
