About

Visit the Avon Valley Railway with your dog and enjoy a ride back in time.

Dogs are welcome on their heritage steam and diesel trains during the summer with seating either at tables or separate compartments (ideal if the dog needs a bit more space). There's water available at the station and they even sell dog-friendly ice cream too!

There are just a few days in the year when the railway would rather you left your dog at home. They hold large family events such as their Teddy Bears Picnics, Lego-themed Brick Express weekends and their ever-popular Santa trains and find that some little children can be scared of dogs so don't encourage them (other than guide dogs) on those special days.

They're also not permitted on the railway's dining trains, but they are of course welcome in the station cafe as there's plenty of outdoor seating on the station platform. It's an ideal stop when walking on the Bristol & Bath Railway Path, so why not pop in when you're next passing by?
