With a brand new year of possible adventures ahead, leading dog-friendly holiday company since 2014, PetsPyjamas, reveals the winners of their Dog-Friendly Travel Awards, with Homewood Hotel & Spa in Bath winning the top award title of ‘Best in Show’.

Selected from thousands of PetsPyjamas truly welcoming dog-friendly hotels, cottages, country houses and B&Bs in the UK and abroad, Homewood Hotel & Spa is one of 12 winners, identified as being worthy of a dog’s future paw miles, with a category to please every kind of hound (and their human).

Judged in PetsPyjamas’ consistent gold-standard of dog-friendliness, the awards took into consideration a dog-loving atmosphere and staff at all times; three or more dog-friendly rooms available to book; four-legged access to some of the property’s communal areas and the ability to dine with their owners with special pet menus being a bonus; dog facilities and provisions such as a bed, bowls and treats in the property; and nearby dog-friendly attractions such as a fabulous doggy walks or a dog-friendly beach.

Luxurious 13th-century Homewood Hotel & Spa impressed PetsPyjamas judges and received their Best in Show title thanks to the property’s luxury offering, fabulous welcome to furry friends, 20-acres of beautiful grounds and pairing of contemporary design with historic elements. Judges loved the fact that guests can take their dog almost everywhere in the hotel including sitting rooms and bar, and that they even have a specially curated doggie menu! The staffs’ super friendly handling of canine guests and recommendations of local walks and pubs for dogs close by also scored points with PetsPyjamas.

Speaking about their award, Ed Fitzpatrick, General Manager, Homewood Hotel & Spa says: “Given our rural location just on the outskirts of Bath, we absolutely love welcoming dogs and their owners to Homewood to explore the hotel and great outdoors. Amongst the team we have many dog owners who take great pride in personalising our guests’ and dogs’ experience, therefore, collectively we are delighted to see this hard work pay off with this award!”

PetsPyjamas Managing Director James Williams also comments: “The canine population has grown massively since the first lockdown, so the hospitality industry has really stepped up their game when it comes to welcoming four-legged friends. Having been at the forefront of dog-friendly holidays since 2014, PetsPyjamas really knows what makes the perfect dog-cation and our awards recognise the properties that excel in their own breed of break! With 12 properties to choose, hounds and their humans now have a brilliant bucket list to work through in 2022! We congratulate Homewood Hotel & Spa for their place in the awards.”
