We are delighted to introduce our new team members,Helen Applin and Dan Mills.  Helen will be taking on the role of Head of Business Events, responsible for the Meet Bristol and Bath Convention Bureau and Dan will join us as Head of Commercial and Industry Engagement.

Helen Applin

Meet Helen

After starting out as an intern with the Bristol Tourism and Conference Bureau (the orginal name of Destination Bristol, now Visit West) in 2002, I have since gained experience working within sales & event management roles on both a local and national level within the hospitality industry. I have had the pleasure of representing a wide range of venues from small boutique hotels and restaurants up to large scale conference venues within Bristol, London and most recently Bath.

I am delighted to be joining Meet Bristol and Bath as Head of Business Events and look forward to building long lasting relationships with our members and representing our outstanding region on a local, national and global stage.

Dan Mills

Meet Dan

Prior to joining Visit West, I gained an array of Business Development experience working for corporate travel agencies, Bristol Airport and Invest Bristol & Bath. While at Bristol Airport, I worked closely with the teams at Visit Bath and Visit Bristol, including supporting international events in London and overseas.

I lived in Canada for two years after studying Travel and Tourism Management at the University of Gloucestershire. Nowadays, I love a staycation, so much so, my honeymoon was spent within an hour of my house in Bristol. In my spare time, I enjoy playing football (badly), a game of badminton and spending time with my two young daughters. Fun fact: I was an extra in the 2006 Drama, Amazing Grace - although have never actually watched the film.

Helen will join us on 6 December, followed by Dan on 20 December and we look forward to you meeting them soon.
