Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire Clinical Commissioning Group are hosting a virtual webinar on Wednesday 8 December, called Opening Doors: a conversation about Covid-19 vaccination in pregnancy.

The purpose of the event is to give mums-to-be in B&NES, Swindon and Wiltshire and their supporting partners, family and friends an opportunity to hear the facts about Covid-19 in pregnancy and ask their questions, with the aim of improving confidence about vaccination during pregnancy and ultimately increasing uptake.

The webinar will be held on Zoom. It begins at 7.30pm and involves a presentation about evidence relating to the risks of Covid-19 in pregnancy, how the vaccine works, benefits of vaccination and some lived experience stories. There will also be a Q&A section at the end.

There is an impressive panel of speakers lined up, including:
- Dr Katharine Backhouse (Consultant Obstetrician, Salisbury)
- Dr Katherine Oldridge (GP Maternity Lead, BSW CCG)
- Dr Colin Payton (Clinical Support Manager, BSW CCG)
- Sandy Richards (Local Maternity and Neonatal System Midwife, BSW CCG)
- Jennie (Service user and Midwife, GWH)

Topics will include:
- evidence relating to the risks of Covid-19 in pregnancy
- how the vaccine works
- benefits of vaccination
- lived experience stories

If you're pregnant, trying to conceive or supporting someone who is, come along to this safe and friendly environment to talk openly about your concerns and receive unbiased and non-judgmental advice and support.
