The Avon Valley Railway is turning the clocks back for a weekend of vintage fun and a look at what life was like during World War Two. The event takes place at the heritage railway in Bitton on the weekend of 18 & 19 September.

The station car park will be full of military vehicles and re-enactor displays. There’ll be 1940s style entertainment from Jayne Darling (who’ll provide a touch of 40s glamour to Bitton Station throughout the weekend). You can even keep an eye out for ‘Sir Winston Churchill’ who will be present on the Saturday too.

Parking for this weekend will be in Keynsham at the car park opposite the Lock Keeper pub with a FREE vintage bus transfer to Bitton Station. Follow the yellow Avon Valley Railway event signs.

Mark Simmons, the railway’s Commercial & Business Manager, said; “Our 1940s weekend is one of our most popular events of the year and it’s great to see it return for 2021. We’re still limiting numbers to help keep everyone safe so advance booking is highly recommended.’

Tickets for the event and train ride cost just £10 for Adults, £9 for Concessions and £7 for children. Access to the displays only is £5 although these tickets are limited.

Tickets and more details can be found at www.avonvalleyrailway.org
Trains depart at 11:00, 12:30, 14:00 and 15:30.
