Family Arts Campaign are pleased to announce they are now accepting applications for the national Fantastic for Families Awards. After a challenging year for many, the awards will provide recognition for the extraordinary resilience of the cultural sector to provide creative activities for families during the global pandemic.

To celebrate the innovative and impactful work of the cultural sector during this time, the awards have been updated with three new categories: ‘Best Family Arts Activity’, ‘Best Age-Friendly Outreach’ and ‘Audience Impact and Innovation Award’.

The arts and cultural sector has experienced huge challenges over the past year to develop and deliver creative experiences and content for families. Despite this, cultural providers have adapted their work to create fantastic activities, resources and programmes for families of all backgrounds. The 2021 awards will celebrate this work, and the introduction of the ‘Age-Friendly Outreach’ award also looks to shine a light on the remarkable efforts to support older generations with creative and social opportunities over the past year.

The Fantastic for Families Awards are organised by Family Arts Campaign, the national Sector Support Organisation funded by Arts Council England and the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation to raise family engagement with arts and culture. The campaign invites applications from any UK-based cultural organisations and cultural activity organisers who have provided for families during March 2020-April 2021.

If you’ve been providing activities, events or initiatives during the pandemic then you can find out more about applying here. Whether you are a venue who has translated your work to socially distanced and outdoor settings, a producer who has developed online content, or an artist who has created packs or resources for families in need, Family Arts Campaign want to hear from you.

Applications are by self-nomination and the deadline is 6pm Wednesday 21st July 2021. Winners will be announced in the autumn. More information.
