You’re invited to join us for a focused discussion on the future skills needs in sustainable tourism, including green skills, to feed directly into the Local Skills Improvement Plans (LSIPs) for Gloucestershire and Somerset.
This event will bring together business from across the visitor economy to share insights, challenges, and ideas about the skills, training, and workforce development needed for resilience and success.
Your insights will help ensure provision across these areas aligns with business needs.
We'll discuss:
- Your experience of current and emerging skills needs
- The barriers to recruitment, retention, and upskilling
- Local training and education provision to better support your business and the wider sector
Why join us?
This focus group is part of the Local Skills Improvement Plans (LSIPs) for Gloucestershire and Somerset. Local Skills Improvement Plans place employers at the heart of local skills systems. Colleges and universities are training your future workforce, so join us to discuss what skills you need from your staff now, and in the future. Your insights will help us work with education providers and partners to shape provision and courses moving forward. Business West Chambers of Commerce is working in partnership with Somerset Chamber of Commerce to deliver the Somerset LSIP.
Who can join us?
This event is open to any employee from any business located in the Gloucestershire and Somerset areas, that wants to impact the skills workforces will need in the future.
If you’re a training provider or regional partner and you’d like to get involved, please email us first at LSIP@businesswest.co.uk to discuss. These focus groups aim to collect business intelligence directly from businesses in the specified local areas. However, we may have some available spaces for our partners and providers to join.
