Why #CanceltheCurfew?

The hospitality industry is in crisis. The 10pm curfew threatens hundreds of thousands of jobs and thousands of businesses. Venues are already reporting a drop in revenue of over 60% since the curfew was enforced.

#CancelTheCurfew

Who are the people behind the campaign?

They are a group of hospitality professionals from across the UK (in Bristol led by BARBIE) who are driving to raise awareness of the impact of this Government policy, with the aim to force a U-turn. Anything less could decimate sectors of the hospitality industry, and they may never be the same again.

I'm a hospitality business, what can I do?

- Share the campaign on your venue’s social media channels using #CANCELTHECURFEW

- Include stories and figures about how the curfew is impacting your business and staff

- Like, follow and share the campaign social media pages and posts

- Take a photo of your staff standing outside your venue in uniform (whatever that may be) holding a sign with your venue name and the campaign hashtag. You may also wish to show a percentage figure of how the curfew is impacting your revenue. Venues are encouraged to upload the photo to your social media channels at 10pm on Saturday 3 October.

- Encourage your staff to take part in a silent protest by standing outside your venue between 10:00pm and 10:15pm on Saturday 3 October.

I work in the hospitality industry, what can I do?

- Share the campaign on your social media using #CANCELTHECURFEW

- Show your owner/manager the campaign and ask them to get the venue involved. The more people that get involved, the greater the impact it will have.

- Take part in the silent protest on Saturday 3 October by standing outside your venue with your colleagues between 10:00pm and 10:15pm holding a sign as detailed above.

I don't work in hospitality, how can I help?

The industry needs all the help it can get and are grateful for your standing with them.
