Mendip Adventure team building

About

Located in the Mendip Hills, close to Bristol and the M5, Mendip Activity Centre hosts corporate team days with adventure activities, meeting space, and on-site catering. Mendip has already delivered adventures for thousands of organisations and teams across the UK.

Conferences & Meetings

Mendip Activity Centre offers a meeting and presentation space within its Alpine-inspired café-bar and function room. The venue is suitable for meetings, presentations, and corporate gatherings, with capacity for up to 60 seated or 100 standing and seated guests. It also benefits from a balcony overlooking the Mendip Hills National Landscape.

For teams combining business with activities, meeting room hire is included free with activity bookings. On-site catering is available, ranging from buffet-style options, to snacks and drinks from the Alpine Lounge café-bar. This makes the venue well-suited to conferences, away days, and team gatherings.

Parties & Social Events

Bookings for Christmas parties are available throughout the festive season. Groups can combine exciting activities with a seasonal buffet of festive treats and a selection of drinks. Snowsports and Tobogganing are both unique activities, great for social events in the colder months. For summer socials, Mendip can provide bespoke team experiences, from kayaking and paddleboarding, to outdoor target sports, and other instructor-led activities. There’s something for every team!

Competitive Socialising & Team Building

Mendip’s ‘Mission Impossible’ sessions are the centre’s standout team building experience, combining problem-solving, communication, and time-pressured challenges in a series of mental and physical tasks. They include up to 15 accessible and inclusive outdoor team challenges designed around communication, planning, adaptability, and problem-solving. There are half-day and full-day options for teams from 5 to 100+.

Groups can also opt to take on high-energy activities like Archery Active and the Assault Course - great for competitive, head-to-head action. Or, groups can choose to focus on collaboration during Raft Building sessions, where teamwork is essential to succeed. Target Sports such as Axe Throwing, Archery, and Air Rifle offer a more relaxed yet still competitive adventure, while activities like Bushcraft and Rock Climbing encourage trust and leadership.

These options create flexible and engaging experiences that can be tailored to a wide range of team dynamics and objectives.

Accommodation

Mendip Lodge provides on-site residential accommodation for up to 86 guests across 15 en-suite rooms. Facilities at the hostel-style site include: various sized bunk-rooms, a lounge-bar with large TV, spacious dining room, flexible meeting/social space, Wi-Fi, USB charging in every bedroom, dedicated parking, and full catering. The wider site also includes Mendip Basecamp, with camping and canvas villages available. YHA Cheddar is a Mendip -operated site where groups are able to stay for longer trips.

Social Impact

Mendip’s mission is to ‘inspire everyone, everywhere to make time for adventure’. They employ this through traditional outdoor education, as well as providing great-value and affordable school trips. Supporting Mendip through corporate stays allows the centre to continue to offer this service.

Mendip is involved with sustainability work, tree planting, nature recovery projects, and support for local community initiatives including the Mendip Hills Community Fund. Holding an event at the centre can therefore support a venue that invests in outdoor education, environmental improvement, and community engagement.
