2 min readA magical new Christmas adventure is coming to Somerset this festive season as Wookey Hole unveils a completely reimagined Wookey's Winter Wonderland for 2026.
Following a £250,000 investment, the much-loved family tradition has been transformed into a bigger, more immersive and more magical experience than ever before, featuring a brand-new journey to the North Pole, an enchanted forest and what is believed to be one of the South West's largest Santa experiences.
For generations, Wookey's Winter Wonderland has been a cherished festive tradition for families across the South West. This year, visitors can look forward to an entirely new adventure.
The experience begins in an enchanted forest filled with festive surprises. Deep within the woodland, families will encounter a storytelling tree before meeting a festive conductor who invites them aboard the all-new Wookey Express.
The centrepiece of the experience is a spectacular 4D train journey carrying up to 25 passengers, with wheelchair access, through a snow-covered world filled with stunning special effects and festive magic. As the train travels towards the North Pole, guests will be immersed in a magical Christmas adventure unlike anything previously seen at Wookey Hole.
At the end of their journey, families arrive in the North Pole before meeting Father Christmas in his cosy grotto. Every child will enjoy a visit with Santa and receive a gift of their choice from Santa's Toy Factory, all included within the ticket price.
The festive fun continues throughout the attraction, where visitors can enjoy dazzling Christmas cave projections, over 100,000 twinkling lights, a festive circus show from the renowned Wookey Hole Circus School and a Christmas 4D cinema experience, alongside access to the attraction's popular family attractions.

"We've completely reimagined the experience from the ground up. We have moved the Christmas experience and grotto to a brand-new area within our historic mill that is three times the size of last year's attraction."

Winter Wonderland runs on weekends and throughout the Somerset school holidays from 21 November to 24 December 2026.
