3 min readSeason two of contemporary psychological thriller The Crow Girl is now available as a box set exclusively on Paramount+, after filming entirely at The Bottle Yard Studios and on location in and around Bristol, supported by the city’s Film Office.
The six-part second season of the gripping Bristol-set drama starring Eve Myles (The Guest, Gone) and Katherine Kelly (Mr Bates vs The Post Office, In Flight) dropped on the streaming platform this week (20 July). It is produced by Buccaneer, the Emmy-winning creative team behind hits Irvine Welsh’s Crime and Marcella.
Filming took place in Bristol between November 2025 and February 2026, with full production headquarters and set builds at The Bottle Yard Studios. Bristol Film Office supported filming at a host of locations around the city, including Melita Road off St Andrew’s Park in Bishopston, Ashton Court Estate and Mansion House, Bristol Museum and Art Gallery, Castle Park and Finzels Reach, Prince Street, Queen Square, Chatterton House and Francombe House.
Series Producer Debs Picsani says: "Bristol and the surrounding areas have some incredible locations and it really is a beautiful part of the UK. We worked closely with the Bristol Film Office to find and secure these locations, they were extremely helpful and knowledgeable which made our task much easier."
Director Charles Martin says: “Bristol is a great place to shoot, and it's perfect for The Crow Girl for a number of reasons. I would say that blood and water are two of our motifs in this series, and Bristol is a gift if you want to shoot water. It's surrounded by rivers, there are lots of lakes, there are lots of ponds, and there's a lot of water. I also like the fact that Bristol is full of juxtaposition; it has a lot of old money architecture, it is a wealthy city built on quite nefarious trading in days of old, then there is quite a lot of Brutalist architecture, plus over the past 20 years, it's been grafted and inked to within an inch of its life, so there’s quite contrasting styles of architecture and life there"
Actor Katherine Kelly adds: “It’s always a joy to go back to a successful show, so it's fantastic to come back to a set where that's the case. I love working with Eve Myles, with whom I do most of my scenes, and Clara Rugaard is fab. Bristol, where the series is set, is fantastic, and the crew's amazing. So, it's just really nice to revisit because you don't always get to do that.”
Season 2: What’s In Store?
The new 6×60-minute series picks up the morning after the events of Series 1, with Eve Myles and Katherine Kelly reprising their roles as Bristol DCI Jeanette Kilburn and enigmatic psychologist Dr. Sophia Craven. Other cast includes Clara Rugaard, Victoria Hamilton and Elliot Edusah.
For DCI Jeanette Kilburn a gruesome crime scene at a pig farm and a mummified body in a church crypt appear unconnected – until a body in a freezer links them both to her investigation into the deaths of asylum seekers. As Jeanette connects the cases to her elusive suspect, Victoria Burkeman, Dr. Sophia Craven realises that her former patient is disturbingly familiar, and Jeanette faces a terrifying truth: the person she’s been hunting may be closer than she ever imagined.
The Crow Girl Season Two is produced by Buccaneer Media in association with ITV Studios, with international distribution handled by ITV Studios. It is written by Milly Thomas, produced by Debs Pisani and directed by Charles Martin and Rebecca Rycroft. Executive Producers include Buccaneer’s Tony Wood, Milly Thomas, Grammy-winning rock guitarist Slash (who has also collaborated with composer Adam Price to create the soundtrack), Eve Myles, Federico Ambrosini, Niclas Salomonsson and Erik Axl Sund.
