Arnos Vale Building

About

Arnos Vale Cemetery is a national heritage site, located in the heart of Bristol and within 45 acres of woodlands. Designed in 1839 as a Victorian Garden Cemetery, it has evolved to what is now a charity, a heritage site, Site of Nature Conservation Interest, and a place many hold dear in their hearts. By choosing Arnos Vale for your venue hire, you are directly helping to care for and protect this unique and special place.

Surrounded by woodlands, our historical venues offer a unique space to bring your team together for work days. The friendly events team will work with you to plan and deliver an exceptional event.

Choose between our 3 unique venues:

The Spielman is a Grade-II* listed Chapel, with original Victorian features and a contemporary interior design. It is their most versatile venue space. Hire out the adjacent atrium café and garden terrace space for large events of up to 140 capacity.

The Underwood Centre is a secret haven set amongst our 45-acre woodlands. It is the perfect venue if you’re looking to get your teams out of the office and amongst nature. Combine this with one of the indoor venues for the ultimate away day!

Designed in 1839, the stunning Anglican Chapel has original Victorian features alongside modern additions that make it both a beautiful setting and a functional room for meetings and events.

Tours

Include a tour as part of your day to learn about Arnos Vale Cemetery’s fascinating history. Be led by an expert guide around the 45 acres and find out about their ecology, buildings and the many wonderful people remembered here.

Parties and celebrations

Celebrate the season with their unique setting for your Summer or Christmas parties. Enjoy a blissful BBQ and sunset cocktails in the Underwood Centre and garden terrace, or enjoy a Victorian-inspired Christmas in their gothic Grade II-listed Chapel.

Catering

Fuel your meetings with their Fairtrade and organic tea and coffee, as well as delicious cakes and biscuits. The onsite cafe is a great space if you’re looking for a quick bite to eat, and has seasonal menus. For groups over 10, they work with excellent local caterers with a focus on sustainability. They also can provide bars in all three of our venues for your event. Arnos Vale Cemetery pride ourselves on stocking local suppliers like Lost and Grounded and Bristol Beer Factory.

Arnos Vale Cemetry have made their venues as accessible as possible. They have a wheelchair ramp up into the café and Spielman Centre and another lift to gain access to the accessible toilet downstairs. They have a wheelchair lift to allow access to the Anglican Chapel (weight limit of 150kg).
