Glassboat

About

Located in central Bristol, 6 O’clock Gin at The Glassboat is a unique showcase venue. Transformed from a former timber barge in the 80’s by the original owner, The Glassboat is an iconic spot in Bristol's harbour history. Relax in the waterfront gin bar, where you can choose from 6 O’clock Gin G&Ts, gin cocktails and a range of local beers, wines, spirits, soft & hot drinks and snacks. When it’s time to go home, pick up a bottle from the onboard shop – perfect for a gift, or a treat for yourself!

Conferences and Meetings

On-board the Glassboat they have a great offering for a conference and meeting space. The events room is the perfect spot for away days for those who are looking for a change of scenery from the office. Fitted with a projector and an AV system, this space works well for conferences and meetings. With gorgeous views of the river Avon and delicious refreshments, this is a fantastic option for those who wish to impress clients. They work closely with local caterers and can organise lunch/dinner on your behalf. Finish your day with an exciting activity for the team, they offer interactive cocktail masterclasses or gin tastings.

Parties & Social Events

They have two options for parties depending on group size. They offer exclusive hire of the venue, which works great for larger groups or they offer our smaller events room. Both options are fantastic for hosting your next social event. They have a full sound system across the venue and a live music license for those who wish to host bands/djs. They work with a range of amazing, local caterers and can accommodate foods of all varieties.

Gala Dinners and Private Dining

The Glassboat is a fantastic place to host your next gala dinner. They offer private dining, collaborating with fantastic local chefs. They can accommodate groups of up to 60 people. They can offer formal sit down dinners or casual buffet style dinners.

Competitive Socialising and Team Building

They offer private gin experiences in their on-board boutique shop space. Their cocktail masterclass is a hands-on class, learning all things 6 O'clock. You'll learn to make two delicious cocktails; a classic and something a little different. The Gin Tasting class is a guide through the history of gin. You'll learn how the company began, sample a range of their exciting gins and discover key botanicals. Both classes include a complimentary G&T to enjoy in their waterfront bar afterwards and are hosted by their expert guides. Gin Tasting £25 p/p, Cocktail Masterclass £35 p/p.

Sustainability Policy

6 O'clock Gin prioritizes sustainability through waste reduction (using surplus fruit), carbon footprint reduction (refill pouches cutting CO2 by 90%+), ethically sourced ingredients, and transparent carbon reporting, aiming to be eco-friendly with initiatives like reducing packaging impact and aligning with consumer demand for responsible spirits. Key Sustainability Practices:

  • Waste Reduction: Started by using surplus fruit from their Devonshire farm to create liqueurs, preventing waste from the beginning.

  • Carbon Footprint: Introduced refill pouches that significantly cut CO2 emissions compared to buying new bottles, making them a core part of their environmental efforts.

  • Transparency: Partnered with The Carbon Stamp to track and demonstrate their carbon footprint, building trust with eco-conscious customers.

  • Continuous Improvement: Constantly looking for ways to improve processes, products, and packaging to be more environmentally friendly.
