For three days in early July our Head of Business Events, Helen Applin represented Bristol, Bath and the west of England at the annual MeetEngland European Trade Mission, engaging with international associations and Professional Conference Organisers (PCOs) based in Geneva, Paris and Brussels.

Association congresses form a vital component of England’s business events ecosystem, bringing together global experts to catalyse knowledge exchange and innovation, provide opportunities to develop new partnerships in key growth sectors, deliver big spending spikes to the regional and national visitor economies.

Each event took place over lunch at the British Embassies and Residences in the cities of Geneva, Paris and Brussels and each event was welcomed and supported by the Ambassador of the Embassy.

We were delighted to host associations and PCOs that work in medical, life and social sciences, professional and business services, clean energy, advanced manufacturing, and the creative industries. In total, Helen met with and presented to over 30 international associations.

National promotion to the association market is all about teamwork. Alongside Meet Bristol & Bath, Helen was also joined by Conference Leeds, Manchester Convention Bureau, Experience Oxfordshire, and London Convention Bureau.
