Following an opening speech by Nick de Bois CBE Chair of British Tourist Authority there were many thought-provoking discussions focusing on how and why impact and legacy planning can and should be a part of the integral framework when planning a business event. VisitBritain partners MEET4IMPACT unveiled the first edition of the Business Events Impactful Framework. The framework focuses on natural, financial, cultural, intellectual, political, human, social and built capitals, aligning to some of the high performing and growing business sectors from across Britain. The Impactful Framework provides a journey to learn and embed wider societal and sustainable strategies into event design, working in partnership with organisers, associations and destinations.

A key part of discussions revolved around the role that Convention Bureaus play to develop partnerships beyond the traditional event and hospitality ecosystems. Meet Bristol and Bath, alongside many of our British cities have long established ambassador networks with strong reach into business and academic circles to help clients widen the impact of their conference.
