The event began with a city tour provided by Visit West taking in some key sites of Bristol followed by a networking dinner held at The Orangery at Goldney House.

The conference then took place at the impressive Wills Memorial Building.

Academic and sector leaders play a crucial role in bringing business events to the UK, providing invaluable advocacy, network connections and expertise. The GANG network provides the unique opportunity for Convention Bureaux (such as Meet Bristol & Bath), universities, Professional Congress Organisers (PCOs) and event professionals to come together to share best practice for operating conference ambassador programmes and working with ambassadors to win, then optimise the positive impact and legacy of congresses in Britain.

The sessions featured an exchange of best practices on partnering with ambassadors and PCOs to win and enhance congresses, and to support regional sector growth. We also had an update from Head of Business Events Paul Black on the Visit Britain Business Events Growth Programme and Positive Impact Framework which will help shape the impact and legacy of events.
