Exterior of the Homewood Hotel in Somerset at sunset

About

Eclectic, luxurious and slightly eccentric; think grand Georgian country house and grounds filled with creative artworks and ultra-modern indulgences including a spa and heated outdoor swimming pool. No need to wait for an invite from the Bridgerton’s – feel like lord or lady of the manor for a few days; corsets optional.

Escape just 15 minutes away from Bath into the rolling hills and valleys of the west country, where you’ll find Homewood, sitting in 20 acres of beautiful gardens and grounds with views across the Avon Valley. Part of the Small Luxury Hotels of The World collection, this eclectic and luxurious country house hotel has a total of 31 rooms including Mallingford Mews, with hot tub suites and balconies to make the most of the countryside scenery.

Oodles of character, exceptional quality and great views are what the 21 main house bedrooms have in common. Each one completely different, find unique statement artwork and lots of lovely accessories including Dyson hairdryers and Smeg coffee machines.

The hotel’s Olio Restaurant combines Somerset ingredients with Mediterranean inspiration, served indoors and on the extensive, sun-drenched outdoor Olio terrace. Whether enjoying a feasting platter or afternoon tea in the sunshine on their outdoor terrace or sampling Somerset flavours inside, their emphasis is always on sustainable, often hedgerow fresh ingredients, with a proud, local provenance. Homewood is also proud to grow a large portion of their produce on-site. Based on an innovative ‘no-dig’ initiative, it has enabled the property to grow produce all year round for its seasonal menus.

Harnessing the spirit of the Roman’s love of a good spa, Homewood has created a pampering haven for guests. Offering some wonderful treatments, their facilities include an indoor hydrotherapy pool, sauna and steam room as well as a heated outdoor swimming pool and hot tub with views over the valley.

The hotel is also family-friendly, with electric car charging points and on-site parking.

Dog-friendly

Homewood love dogs, so bring them along and they will receive the full Homewood waggy-tail welcome. The hotel now boasts an on-site dog agility course and dog grooming parlour. Winner of the 'The Best in Show' at Pets Pyjamas Travel Awards. Find out more about dog-friendly stays at Homewood here
