About

Martin Parr Foundation is a gallery dedicated to photography, with an exciting programme of exhibitions and events, including artists talks, workshops, book signings and seminars, as well as our annual photobook festival - BOP - which takes place every October.

Entry to exhibitions is free and our gallery is pet friendly, family friendly, and accessible via the lifts situated across Paintworks.

The Foundation comprises a gallery, working studio, library of 5000+ photobooks, a photographic archive and bookshop. While our gallery and bookshop are open to the public, we also offer the facility for groups to book a tour exploring the working studio, library and archive.

As well as developing MPF exhibitions, the studio is also the working studio of Martin Parr, where we print and manage Martin Parr exhibitions around the world, as well as ongoing Martin Parr book projects.

Our annual photobook festival takes place across Paintworks every October as photographers and photobook publishers from across the UK and Europe join us to showcase the latest in photography. The festival weekend is accompanied by a programme of artist talks, events, book signings, and more, as well as plenty of coffee, street food and local beer.

The Foundation aims to support and promote photography from across the British Isles and preserve the work and legacy of Martin Parr.
