About
The Granary, located on Bristol’s historic Welshback, is a café, restaurant, and cocktail club housed in one of the city’s most iconic landmark buildings. Bold flavours. Exceptional coffee. Crafted cocktails. Historic walls. Just steps from King Street and Queen Square, The Granary is an independent neighbourhood destination where history, architecture, and hospitality come together.
The Granary has earned acclaim from locals and visitors alike. Featured in The Telegraph’s Top Restaurants to Dine in Bristol, finalist for Best Restaurant in the Bristol Life Awards 2025, South West Silver for Restaurant of the Year 2025, and recognised in the Times Top 20 Things to Do in Bristol and Condé Nast Traveller’s Top 16 Restaurants in Bristol, it is one of the city’s most celebrated dining destinations.
Bright, airy dining spaces are complemented by the warmth of an open-fire kitchen, creating a welcoming and comforting atmosphere. Guests can enjoy freshly baked pastries and milk buns, specialty coffee, brunch with friends, or seasonal mains.
On Sundays, generous sharing plates such as spice-roasted chicken, salt marsh lamb shawarma, and celeriac dauphinoise bring friends and family together around the table. Inspired by the South West and far beyond, the menu blends Mediterranean- and Persian-inspired flavours for bold, soulful dining.
The Granary works closely with local farms and suppliers within a 40-mile radius to ensure the freshest seasonal produce. The restaurant is dog-friendly, fully accessible, and has modern facilities. You'll always find a range of vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal choices on the menu.
The Granary Club
Beneath the restaurant, The Granary Club is a cocktail bar and live music space celebrating Bristol’s cultural history and the legendary original Granary club. It is famously the spot where Del Boy falls through the bar, a playful nod that captures the club’s character and humour. Guests can enjoy crafted cocktails, seasonal drinks, and live music in a stylish vaulted basement setting, combining vibrant nightlife with a sense of theatrical fun.

Sustainability
The Granary offers sustainable, seasonal dining, celebrating local suppliers, community partnerships, zero-waste innovation, and heartfelt hospitality in Bristol’s most stunning Byzantine building. Our commitment to sustainability is reflected in our ethos of sourcing locally.
Nearly all their produce comes from the South-West, with many suppliers, such as Counter Culture Kombucha, Degusta, Ruby & White and Wogan Coffee, located just miles from our door. By highlighting these partnerships on our menus, we celebrate Bristol’s vibrant food scene while reducing our environmental footprint.
We also adopt a nose-to-tail approach to minimise food waste, turning vegetable peels into syrups for our drinks. The Granary actively support the local community through collaborations with charities and grassroots initiatives. These include providing weekly hot meals for The Bristol Churches Shelter, raising funds for Streetsmart, and hosting family-focused events in partnership with The Grand Appeal and Too Good to Go. Additionally, their build project prioritised women-led artisans and businesses, creating commercial opportunities for local talent in design, upholstery, and craftsmanship. By fostering connections with local co-working spaces, cultural institutions, and community groups, The Granary have created a welcoming space where everyone can gather, connect, and feel at home. In return, The Granary has thrived, becoming a celebrated destination for seasonal, sustainable dining while supporting Bristol’s economy and its people. We’re proud to bring sunshine and happiness to our guests and community every day.
