About
The Granary, an all-day dining restaurant is house in one of the city's most iconic landmarks. The Granary is not just a restaurant; it's a celebration of history, architecture, and modern British cuisine that champions sustainability, seasonality, provenance and locally sourced ingredients. A venue where the elegance of architecture, the art of cooking, and the warmth of human connections converge to create a unique and inviting experience.
The Granary has garnered acclaim from both locals and critics alike. Voted as a finalist for Best Restaurant in Bristol Life Awards 24 and listed among the "Top 20 things to do in Bristol" by Times, and Top 16 restaurants in Bristol in Conde Nast Traveller.
Whether it's breakfast with freshly baked milk buns, hearty steak & eggs or small plates & seasonal mains cooked over the open fire, the goal is simple: each bite should envelop you in a comforting embrace that brings a smile to your face.
They work closely with the best farms and suppliers within a 40 mile radius. Their fresh, seasonal menus change through the year so we can use the best produce available. Our meats are prepared using a nose-to-tail approach, we do all our own butchery on site. They have a zero waste policy and their whey, vegetable and fruit peels are used in the club for cocktail syrups and drink infusions.
The Granary Club
In addition to its dining offerings, The Granary has an exciting announcement—the upcoming opening of The Granary Club. Serving as a cocktail bar and live music space, The Granary Club pays homage to the original Granary club and Bristol's rich cultural history.
The Granary stands out as a unique all-day dining destination in Bristol, combining historical significance with a contemporary culinary vision. From its carefully curated menu to its commitment to local sourcing and community collaboration, The Granary promises a memorable and immersive dining experience for locals and visitors alike.
Whether it’s for a coffee, cocktails, breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner, The Granary is not just a restaurant; it's a celebration of Bristol's rich history, local talent, and a place to create memories.
Sustainability
The Granary offers sustainable, seasonal dining, celebrating local suppliers, community partnerships, zero-waste innovation, and heartfelt hospitality in Bristol’s most stunning Byzantine building. Our commitment to sustainability is reflected in our ethos of sourcing locally. Nearly all our produce comes from the South-West, with many suppliers, such as Counter Culture Kombucha, Degusta, Ruby & White and Wogan Coffee, located just miles from our door. By highlighting these partnerships on our menus, we celebrate Bristol’s vibrant food scene while reducing our environmental footprint. We also adopt a nose-to-tail approach to minimise food waste, turning vegetable peels into syrups for our drinks.
We actively support the local community through collaborations with charities and grassroots initiatives. These include providing weekly hot meals for The Bristol Churches Shelter, raising funds for Streetsmart, and hosting family-focused events in partnership with The Grand Appeal and Too Good to Go. Additionally, our build project prioritised women-led artisans and businesses, creating commercial opportunities for local talent in design, upholstery, and craftsmanship. By fostering connections with local co-working spaces, cultural institutions, and community groups, we’ve created a welcoming space where everyone can gather, connect, and feel at home. In return, The Granary has thrived, becoming a celebrated destination for seasonal, sustainable dining while supporting Bristol’s economy and its people. We’re proud to bring sunshine and happiness to our guests and community every day.
