Recently, our Head of Marketing, Jon Chamberlain spoke to the team at Group Travel Odyssey about the Bath and Bristol and region for groups. As well as a good overview of the region, the discussion included a run-through of a three-day itinerary taking in the highlights and plenty of art and culture across the two cities. We were the very first UK destinations to be featured on the live streamed channel.

Highlights included many of the top attractions in the region alongside places to stay, places to eat and cultural links. Jon also showcased the location of our destinations and the wider region, inspiring groups to consider a 'hub and spoke' stay with lots of options for day trips on our doorstep and exploring 'The England you already know, but better'

"The location is wonderful"

Steven Gross, from Group Travel Odyssey said: "We started this livestream back in February so our customers could have a resource to help them plan great group tours. Up until now we've featured destinations within the US, but recently we've started working with more tour operators who plan group trips to the UK and Ireland, so I've started reaching out to DMOs on your side of the world to join us for a livestream episode. I found Visit West by researching different DMOs in England and the social media for Bristol/Bath is awesome, there's plenty of history to discover, and the location is wonderful, so I decided to reach out. I think Bristol/Bath is a great destination to showcase as a group-friendly area to explore outside of London."

Editor's note: Jon may have got a little excited in the interview and awarded Daniel Day-Lewis an extra Academy Award! We wish Mr D-L the best of luck for another nomination soon.

The team at Group Travel Odyssey have also put together a blog post following the recording, featuring many of the places and attractions from the three-day itinerary.
