Chaplain's House

About

Chaplain's House offers a unique experience to live in Victorian style, as well as enjoying all the comforts of this restored house.

It was built as a residence for the Gibbs family's chaplain, a prestigious role as demonstrated in the quality of the original features, many of which are also found in the main house at Tyntesfield. Built between 1889 and 1891 in the dramatic Gothic Revival style, this imposing building is set on the edge of the formal garden and wider estate, which guests are welcome to enjoy, along with a complimentary visit to the main house.

Set over three floors, this fine and spacious house has been beautifully restored, with the guidance of the National Trust's Curator, to provide a rare opportunity to live in style on a country estate.

Just seven miles from Bristol and in easy reach of the M5, Tyntesfield offers the perfect retreat for you to enjoy, but is within easy reach of local attractions and amenities. There is an interconnecting door between Chaplain's House and Chaplain's Lodge enabling larger parties (up to 11) to enjoy these beautiful properties. (This remains locked unless otherwise requested).
