Bristol loves dogs, and you’re never far from a place to eat and drink which will also welcome your four-legged friend.
We know what it's like, you've brought your dog away with you on a break and need to find somewhere you can go for a cosy meal, a light lunch, a swift pint or all of the above. Well we've rounded up some dog-friendly cafes, restaurants and bars to give you a few options in Bristol.
Take a seat inside the cafe or on the terrace overlooking the harbour at Mud Dock, where your furry friends will receive a welcome drink and doggy snacks. Nearby in Wapping Wharf, several restaurants accept dogs, include Gambas and Cargo Cantina.
Up the hill in Clifton, the team at Racks love dogs and they’re most welcome in the main bar, where there's a selection of treats available for them to enjoy. Dogs are welcome in the bar and restaurant areas at Coppa Club, with water bowls and treats also available. If you're looking for stunning views of the Clifton Suspension Bridge, dogs can join you on the terrace at The White Lion Bar.
Dogs are also welcome on the terrace at The Forge & Fern in Staple Hill, where they can enjoy a Marshfield Scoop dog ice cream.
In need of a refuel on the harbour loop? Junction in Wapping Wharf has a large outdoor terrace, as does No.1 Harbourside.
Continental style beer bar The Strawberry Thief in the Old City has plenty of space inside and out for you and your dog, as does Channings Hotel in Clifton with its huge beer garden.
Well behaved dogs are always welcome to join resident pooch Akira at Spirited in Southville, so you can sip on cocktails, or join tasting events with furry friends at your side. Nearby KASK also has its own pub dog, Indy (small, white, fluffy and super friendly), and they love it when other dogs come to join.
Wiper and True welcomes dogs and provides water bowls at their brewery bars in Old Market and St Werburghs, and you'll find that your dog is allowed in most of Bristol's brewery taprooms.
Planning a country pub walk? The Langford is a very dog-friendly village pub dating back to the 17th century, where dogs are also welcome to stay in their rooms above the pub if you decide to book in overnight.

Ashton Court Estate’s Courtyard Café has a wagtastic dog-friendly attitude, as does the kiosk at Oldbury Court and Snuff Mills which sells dog treats. The Bake Box in St George Park welcomes well behaved dogs on leads in the cafe, and also has treats including doggie sausages and dog ice-creams.
